Book early
Please book a travel consultation at least six to eight weeks before you travel, as some vaccines need more than one dose or take time to work. If you are leaving sooner, still get in touch, as we may be able to help.
Your travel consultation
Your GP will look at where you are going, how long you will be away, what you plan to do and your medical history, then recommend the vaccines and medicines that are right for your trip.
-
Advice on vaccines for your destination
-
Malaria prevention tablets, where needed
-
Advice on food and water safety, insect bites and sun protection
-
Advice for travelling with a long-term condition, during pregnancy or with children
Vaccines we may recommend
Depending on your destination, these may include hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, tetanus/diphtheria/polio, rabies, meningitis, cholera and others. Some vaccines, such as yellow fever, are only given in designated centres; we will advise you if you need one.
